The wonderful world of YouTube...

My name is Tory, and I'm addicted to YouTube.
And I am not the only one.
Youtube is synonymous within todays everyday activity. It would be difficult to find a single person over the age of 2 years old that has never heard, nor indulged in a little bit of you tube action, and this is no wonder - over 65,000 videos are posted and over 43% of the population of Britain uses Youtube in one day.

It's a fantastic tool for User Generated Content, the perfect vehicle for viral campaigns, and a chance for the average Joe to express themselves to the world. Because of this, audiences don't even tend to mind the fact that the majority of content on the site is advertising; if anything, it is accepted due to the 'opt-in' nature of the platform - people are choosing to be exposed to campaigns, and therefore spread the word without being prompted. A win-win situation for marketers and consumers alike.

There are even TV programmes about the Youtube phenomenon, and some videos posted to the site have propelled to infamous stardom with millions of views.
The site is regarded as part of everyday life - you post it on your facebook, and you tell anyone who will listen about the latest funny thing you have seen - even my Daddy (who calls the internet "webscape") can tell you what YouTube is.

Baring this in mind, you would think that Youtube would be one of the highest grossing, profit making companies in the world.... Well, you thought wrong.
In the 5 years since its birth, Youtube hasn't made a profit.
Crazy right?!

Anyway. Deep down, the only reason I wanted to mention Youtube was to have an excuse to show this amazing video. CLICK ON THE LINK!
Well done BBC for doing something good. Gold stars all round.
